As part of the “Favorite Kids” project of the Charity Fund “Tabor”, there took place another distribution of food packages for children from IDP families currently living in Kyiv.
Necessary medicines were also purchased for children with disabilities and chronic diseases. For many parents, this is the biggest challenge, because the cost of medicines is often too high, and without them, full treatment or prevention is impossible.
The help was provided to families from the most vulnerable categories: large families, children raised by one of the parents, and children with disabilities.
The war will forever remain as a part of the childhood of these boys and girls. From an early age, they know what danger is, how to react to air alert, how to fall asleep in the hallway to the sounds of drones, and how to worry not only about themselves, but also about their loved ones.
One mother said:
«My daughter is 5 years old. When the air alert sounds at night, she takes a pillow, a blanket and her favorite toy kitten and silently goes to the bathroom. She already knows what to do…». And there are hundreds of such stories. For many children, this has become the norm. Childhood to the sounds of air alerts, in shelters and with constant anxiety in the eyes.
That is why supporting families with children who are having a particularly hard time is our priority. We strive to provide not only one-time assistance, but comprehensive and systematic support that really helps in this difficult time.
