Kamianets-Podilskyi: hot lunches save the needy

We woke up this morning to admire a real winter outside: the thermometers show the minus temperature, and it has been snowing all night long. The picture is sweet to our eyes, but bitter to our heart, because during the period of deteriorating weather conditions, many people, especially those who do not have permanent places of residence, lonely elderly men and women, disabled people, migrants and other low-income citizens simply need hot food!

Taking care of the needy, we have bought 100 kg of buckwheat, 72 cans of sardines, 25 kg of corn grits, 25 kg of peas, 15 stew cans, 10 kg of salt, 36 liters of vinegar, 10 packs of ketchup , 20 packs of mayonnaise, 20 packs of seasonings, 2 kg of citric acid, 2 kg of mustard powder, 40 packs of pepper, 30 packs of bay leaves and delivered them to the hot food point in Kamianets-Podilskyi for cooking tasty hot meals.

We will remind you that since the first days of the war, hot lunches have been served at the cathedral. More than 200 people receive help from cathedral volunteers. Some of them come to the temple for a meal, but the meals are mostly transported by volunteers to the people’s places of settlement in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Hot food saves those who ended up in difficult life circumstances from hunger, and also warms them in cold weather!

“If people do not learn to help each other, then the human race will disappear from the face of the earth,” said Walter Scott.

Let’s bear this in mind and more often lend a shoulder to those who need it!
