During the past year, we have all undergone a major reassessment of many things and changed our attitude to such simple, basic needs that we used to take for granted, such as a hot lunch every day.
That is why, dear friends, we support mobile refectories in different cities of Ukraine. And today we are going to visit one of them in Nyvky, Kyiv.
Every day more than 200 low-income, sick people who need help are fed here. There are people among them who could buy meat, milk, sweets and even go to coffee shops before the war, but now they can’t afford to buy even bread. Some of them have no job, the others have lost their homes or breadwinners or have moved from places where fierce fighting is taking place… And a bowl of hot soup is the only hope for these people to survive!
So that the volunteers who start preparing hot meals in the morning could provide their wards with a delicious nutritious lunch every day, we bought and delivered such food to the refectory: frozen fish, meat stew, canned fish, vegetable oil, pasta, buckwheat, rice, barley, wheat groats, tomato paste, salt, sugar, beans, canned corn and peas, butter, vinegar and tea.
In this difficult period of cold weather and rapidly rising food prices, low-income people especially need our help! We continue to support them, so please join in!
